The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has declared wanted, two pastors with the Believers Love World Nation, aka, Christ Embassy, Onyinmiebi (Miebi Baraza) and Beatrice Bribena, over fraud issues of over Two Billion Naira, asking the general public to alert the police if they have useful information on the both of them.
The project under investigation is, Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited which is promoted by the Bribenas, which is an organization ran by Beatrice Bribenas, a pastor with Christ Embassy Church and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bayelsa State with the slogan, “We are committed to improving members’ lives through financial empowerment, business financing, thrift and credit, housing, scholarship, and other means,” the organization’s profile states.
They are accused of defrauding tens of billions of naira by promising a monthly
return on investment of 25%, with the victims visiting the company’s
headquarters on Otiotio Road in Yenagoa several times in 2021, requesting a
refund, which made the EFCC to seal the office complex indefinitely.
The company, this platform is informed, has an office in Port Harcourt and
other parts of the country, as Baraza had told investors that it was trading
with their money on forex platforms, but that it had to stop because it
couldn’t afford to pay returns.
Bribena released a video last July to dispel rumours that his health and
business were failing, as he said, “Ignore such information. Is it now, if I
haven’t fainted since, that I will faint? “I’m not sure if some people are
upset that Baraza could come back,” he said.
