A former member of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign organization and Special Adviser to the Deputy Senate President, on Legal Matters, Daniel Bwala, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His
resignation comes in the midst of the backlash that has welcomed the
announcement of the former Governor of Borno State, Sen. Kassim Shettima, as
the Vice Presidential Candidate of the ruling APC, as a Muslim by faith who
would peer with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential Flagbearer who is also a
Muslim.

Their ticket has immediately attracted attacks from a cross-section of Nigerians who contend that such ticket is insensitive to the religious composition of the country.
In
a post on his Twitter account, Daniel Bwala announced his resignation from the
party with immediate effect as he wrote, “Tonight I officially resigned my
membership of @OfficialAPCNg on principles and conviction that I hold so dear.
At this time of our national existence, our efforts amd energy should gravitate
towards uniting our people.”
