Former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has reacted to reports on Social Media where he was quoted making disparaging comments against the Labour Party presidential candidate and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, against his bid to become president come 2023.
In the report, which Ihedioha called FAKE NEWS, he was quoted as saying that “if the Labour Party candidate is elected, the errors of President Buhari’s administration will be multiplied, and advised anyone urging support for Obi’s ambition to be wary of the approaching repercussions”.
In his rebuttal, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha says, “my attention has been drawn to fake news, with the above caption, circulated in some social media platforms and this is one of the many orchestrated efforts by political opponents of his and their collaborators who are afraid of squaring up against him in the coming elections.
It is noteworthy to note that, Emeka Ihedioha did not grant any interview in Abuja or elsewhere as claimed and he is known to acquit himself on the most civil, decent and respectful manner and therefore could not have employed such uncouth words.
He
says that he is aware that the purveyors of these unfounded reports are
unrelenting in their desperation to impugn His Excellency's integrity and
reputation, therefore, public is alerted and indeed advised to kindly ignore
and disregard the fake news.
