News filtering in has it that the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako had resigned and the reason for his resignation is unconnected to series of building collapse experienced during his tenure as Commissioner, with lives of Lagosians being lost each time a building gives way.

Consequently, the man in charge of buildings had to take the fall by giving up his job, should there be anything he isn’t doing well, so another competent hand could be brought in by the Governor to man the place, setting the record as one of the few, if not the only one who would be compelled to resign his position for things to get better.

So, the Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, had to accept his resignation from his position as Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development within 24hours after the collapse of another building in the state.
