The chapter of the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, in Abia State is said to have dissociated herself from her members who visited the Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and collected palliatives from him.

In a Statement signed by one Comrade M.C Ugwuene and Comrade P.O Nwiyi, both Chairperson and Secretary of the branch at the Michael Okpara University respectively, the union said they were never invited, nor aware and did not authorize and approve such visit.
They
also claimed that those who went on that visit did not request for, neither did
it receive palliative from Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, threatening that members who
are found culpable of the visit will shall be subjected to disciplinary action
of the union.
