“LAGOS IS NOT A LEARNING GROUND FOR POLITICIAN” – COSEG Say As She Endorses Governor Sanwo-Olu For Reelection.

Oodua Members,

The leadership of the Coalition of Oodua Self Determined Groups, COSEG and other Ethnic Nationality,  today in Lagos, endorsed for second term, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who according to them, has performed creditably well by all standards.

According to a statement read at the event by Comrade Dayo Ogunlana, some of the criteria for endorsing Governor Sanwo-Olu are, Projects and Programs initiated and completed by him within the last three and half years, the ideas behind the projects and values of the projects to the economic and infrastructural development of Lagos, the bond with the people in terms of justice, fairness and equality, the synergy with the other arms of government, that is, the judiciary and legislature, competence and capacity of leadership, continuity  and then, trust, test as against learning on the job.

Continuing, the leadership of COSEG says Governor Sanwo-Olu has passed all the criteria set up by various leaders of the ethnic nationality groups who met and canvassed to take the decision to endorse a certified performer.

When he joined the race in 2018, many did not give him chance at the polls, but he eventually emerged against an incumbent who worked tirelessly to discredit him and since he won and assumed office, he has never disappointed those who supported him, as he continued to development of Lagos as envisioned by the Governor emeritus, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the architect  of modern day Lagos, justifying the confidence reposed in him by Lagosians who stood by and voted him into office.

COSEG say Governor Sanwo-Olu’s handling of the COVID 19 pandemic is another accomplishment of his that remained in the minds of not only people who live in Lagos, but Nigerians and the world at large as he brought attention to the effectiveness of his ability to manage and handle crisis, emerging as the incident commander, setting up isolation centres across the state, thereby curtailing the dreaded disease.

Comrade Dayo Ogunlana.

Projects such as “ilera EKO”, a program designed for pregnant women in the state, the health insurance scheme, his empowering of members of the Lagos Sate Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA are some of the reasons COSEG say she is endorsing him to continue to impact the lives of Lagosians, as well as adopt him as her only candidate for Governor in Lagos State.

Among those in the group are, Comrade Mohammed Kudu Abubakar of the Northern Youth Coalition, Linus Okoroji of the Ndigbo in Lagos and Rasak Olokooba who unanimously and without any voice of dissent, pick Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as COSEG’s Governorship candidate in Lagos.
