National Leadership Of AGN Suspends Brown Ene’s Leadership Of Enugu State Chapter Of The Actors Body With Immediate Effect.

The National Executive Committee of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has placed an indefinite suspension on members of the State Executive Committee of Enugu state.

The suspension is ratified by the National Secretary of AGN, Actor Abubakar Yakubu, who said that this is sequel to various petitions received from members of the state chapter bordering on misappropriation of funds, embezzlement and lack of following due process by members of the state Executives of Enugu state chapter.

In view of this, the National Executive Council held a crucial meeting and voted to suspend the executive Committee and was immediately ratified by the Board of Trustees in line with Article 3, Section 6, paragraph 3D of the amended constitution of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, 2019.

Members of the suspended state Executives were directed to appear before an investigative panel set up by NEC and headed by Nollywood actor and Special Adviser on Arts and Culture to the Abia State Governor, Doris Ogala.

According to Abubakar Yakubu, the order for members of the state executive to appear before an investigation panel is to allow each member of the executive committee the opportunity to defend themselves from all the allegations and whoever is exonerated will be reinstated while those found culpable will be dealt with in line with the constitutional provisions.

The National Executive Council has also appointed Stan K. Amandi as sole administrator to oversee the affairs of the state chapter in the interim pending the outcome of the report of the investigative panel.

NEC has directed all aggrieved members of the state chapter to direct their reports or petitions to the Investigative Panel which will soon commence sitting in Enugu.
