The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN has appointed veteran actor, Joke Silva as a member of the Board of Trustees and her younger colleague, Ufuoma McDermott Director of International Affiliations of the actors union body.
The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Chief Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, announced the appointment of veteran actress and internationally acclaimed screen diva, Joke Silva, MFR, into the registered Board of Trustees of the Actors Guild of Nigeria by members of the Trustees and the appointment of actor, Ufuoma McDermott as Director of International Affiliations of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
According to Chief Rollas, the appointments are in line with his mission and strategic vision to reposition the Actors Guild of Nigeria to meet the aspirations of members in line with international best practice and to improve the standard of acting profession.
It would be recalled that the National President made his first appointments shortly after his re-election and acceptance in Benin City on November 22nd 2022, when he announced the Appointments of Kelvin Uvo as Chairman of National Task Force and Ugochukwu Ohuonu, alias,Twenty Mouth, as Mayor or AGN Abuja respectively.
Emeka Rollas hinted that more capable hands
would be brought on board of the Guild as he will announce more appointments in
due course, maintaining that improved members welfare, better remunerations and
lasting structures remain his major cardinal areas in this second tenure.
