Former Minister of Education and that of Solid Minerals, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili has been appointed the new chairman of the board of Women Political Leaders, WPL, succeeding former Prime Minister of New Zealand,who is now board’s Chair Emeritus, Helen Clark.
WPL seeks to increase the number, influence and
impact of women in political and leadership positions across the world and the
the organisation is the first network established by thousands of women
political leaders from over 130 countries.
Membership of the Women Political Leaders, WPL
include Heads of State, Government, ministers, parliamentarians, local and
regional politicians.
Reacting to this appointment, Ezekwesili says it is
an honour to serve as Chair of the WPL Board.
