The Governor of Cross Rivers State, Professor Ben Ayade has lost his bid to retire to the Senate chambers as an APC Senator from the state with the incumbent Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has defeated him to clinch the seat.
Senator
Jarigbe scored 76,145 to defeat the governor, who polled 56, 595 votes in the Saturday,
the 25th of February exercise.
Declaring
Sen. Jarigbe winner of the election, in the early hours of Monday, 27th, the
returning officer, Dr. Emmanuel Emanghe who spoke on behalf of Independent
National Electoral Commission INEC commended stakeholders for their peaceful
conduct
