Nollywood Actor, Olumide Oworu Declares Desire To Contest For The Lagos State House Of Assembly.


One is not sure when he got the ticket of the Labour Party, but Nollywood Actor and the star of "The Johnsons" on African Magic, Olumide Oworu, today, announced his intention to contest in the Saturday, the 25th February election for Presidential and National/State Assembly election.

One of the star of the wave making movie, Far From Home, Olumide took to his Instagram page to announce this and at the same time, clear the air on certain issues.

He wrote "It is with s sense of honour and duty that I announce my candidacy for membership of The Lagos  State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency 1 on the platform of the Labour Party. The youth pf the generation in Nigeria are more politically aware than ever and are now striving to have our voices heard and take part in the government process of this great country".

Continuing, he said, "As someone with passion for youth development, it is on this note that I tender myself in service to play my part in the actualization of an all inclusive government, where the young Nigerian intellectuals have a chance to make a change by being a part of the move for the creation of a new Nigeria".

What is not clear yet is when he nursed this desire to contest for the House of Assembly, why he kept this till now and when his won the ticket of the Labour Party for the house. We believe that in days, he would speak out more on this pressing issues, but in all, we at "Precious Eze's Blog" this is a tall order and we wish him well on Saturday.
