Gov. Sanwo-Olu Intercedes, Agrees To Pay Court Judgement On EndSars Victim, Clement Adedotun.

Gov. Sanwo-Olu.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has proven some of his critics wrong again, including this Publisher as some of us were of the opinion that it was because he had won election that the state government refused to honour the judgment of the court which awarded N5m fine against the state in favour of Clement Adedotun, whom the court her its wisdom felt was also brutalized during the EndSars.

According the Governor who spoke through his Social Media handles, after news had gone round that the attorney general of the state was going to appeal the judgment, said he was going to honour the judgment and immediately directed that preceeding should commence to make this come to pass.

The Governor wrote, “Good evening Lagos, as Governor, I'm committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting citizens' rights with empathy and authority. I recently became aware of the case involving Mr. Clement Adedotun and the judgement by the Federal High Court, and I understand the impact this legal battle has had on him. After reviewing Mr. Clement's case, I've directed the Honorable Attorney General to set up a meeting and pay him the compensation awarded by the Court.

Although the State Government has appealed the ruling, I've interceded in this instance in the interest of the public good, and requested that the State's Attorney General comply with the court's ruling. As a strong advocate for the rule of law, I commend all parties for seeking justice through the appropriate channels, and I remain committed to upholding the rights of all Lagosians.

This is a Governor who listens and knows the plight of those he rules, he is an example what being a governor should be and we are proud of him, meaning that our votes for him wasn’t wasted.
