There is a portion in the Bible which says that a house divided against itself shall not stand and this passage seem to be the case of some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Rivers State House of Assembly, as they have just congratulated the Governor-Elect, who also was the candidate of opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The
members under the umbrella body known as APC State Assembly Forum in a letter
to the Governor-Elect, Sim Fubara and signed by the Director General of the
forum, Amb. Fubara Dagogo, said that her members are happy to identify with the
victory of Sim Fubara at the keenly contested electoral process in the state,
especially his campaigns for governor.
According
to them, the progressive outlook of the campaign of the PDP in the state and
the commitment of the then governorship candidate, now governor-elect, were
geared towards the advancement of the Rivers State people in the same manner
Governor Nyesom Wike had demonstrated over the years as Governor of the state.
The
APC State Assembly Forum (ASAF) urges the Governor-Elect to make people, the
centre focus of his administration in terms of policies, leaving a legacy of
people oriented program in infrastructure development, social investment and
sustainable reforms that will transform Rivers State into a world-class standard.
