Africa's first female talking drummer on world stage, Ara Olamuyiwa, popularly known as Ara, last night broke another record but this time, in Nigeria during her performance at the Presidential Banquet in honour of the incoming president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, held by the outgoing president, Muhammadu Buhari.
During her performance, Ara brought two talking drums, handed one to the President, Muhammadu Buhari, acknowledging his contributions to Nigeria in the area of infrastructural development.
She also presented one of the drums to the incoming president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, charging him to bring his Midas touch to Nigeria and pull his magic wand where necessary to develop Nigeria.
These gifts by Ara to the outgoing and the incoming, were the last gift by a Nigerian to the outgoing President while in office and the first gift by a Nigerian to the incoming president before his swearing in. The gifts were big coming from a Nigerian who is neither a politician or in any political office
Then again, Ara's performance last night was not only electric, but encouraging, as she used the opportunity to introduce to the world, two of her prodigies on stage for the world.
