The
Nigerian Movie industry popularly known as Nollywood is about to witness her
greatest outburst of ideas as the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN has set in
motion to hold her pioneer International festival tagged NGN International
Festival in far away Miami, the United States of America, USA.

At
a press conference in Lagos to announce the festival, the Chairman of the
Organizing Committee and Nollywood Actor, Dr. Alex Okoroji said the festival
would immensely grow Nollywood as an industry and the Nigerian economy at
large.

According
to her, this festival would be the celebration of the brightest Nigerian film
and television actors, and would feature a panel discussion, city tours,
workshops, and seminars where actors and filmmakers can learn from each other as
well as engage with their fans and supporters in the diaspora.”

Okoroji also said that as cultural ambassadors of Nigeria who
are using their talents and skills daily to contribute to the growth of the
country through Nollywood, the festival would be an excellent opportunity to
build greater relationships with international filmmakers and producers to
promote Nigeria’s arts and culture and some of Nigeria’s biggest brands.

“We
believe the AGN International Festival will be a great opportunity to showcase
Nigerian talents to a global audience in promoting cultural understanding,
fostering bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United States of America.

Alex
Okoroji went further to state that the AGN International Festival will not only
foster quality relationships between our talents here and those abroad, but
will be a springboard for opening channels for collaborations as the AGN is
excited to be partnering with the African Travel Film Festival whom she said
are in support of the project to showcase Nollywood actors to the world,
providing them opportunities to network and to celebrate incredible talents
from Nigeria.

On
his part, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Dr. Emeka
Rollas Ejezie announced the launch of the AGN International Festival in the
presence of some past presidents of the AGN like Ejike Asiegbu, Segun Arinze,
veteran producer and actor, Ego Boyo, Victor Oswagu, Uche Elendu, Nkechi Nnaji,
the Chairman of AGN in Lagos, Emeka Rising-Ibeh, Grace Ama, Paschaline Alex,
Chinenye Uyanna, Ifeoma Okeke and so many other actors.

The
AGN president opinioned that the AGN International Festival swhich is scheduled
for the 9th to the 11th November 2023 in Miami, Florida, USA, would see actors
networking with international agents with a tour of Telemundo studios and other
side attraction like masterclass which each participating actor will attend.

Mr.
Ejezie used the press conference to announce former MTN Project Fame anchor and
Nollywood actor, Joseph Benjamin and Nancy Isime as anchors for the
International Festival which he said would have over 70 Nollywood actors attending
an an initiative of the AGN to ensure a growth system in Nollywood for actors.

Elaborating
further, the President also said, that in the last 25 years in Nollywood, if
you calculate the rate at which an average actor grows, especially in the
international space, it is not encouraging which is why we initiated a
programme where actors would have a physical interaction, collaboration, and
relationship with the international market to gain recognition and global
profiling and AGN in affiliation with the Federation of International Actors
and the Screen Actors Guild of America to promote collaborations for her
members.
