The Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah has expressed shock over the death of Nollywood veteran actor, Cynthia Okereke whose death was announced today after she slept and didn’t wake-up.
The governor through a post he made through his Twitter
handle had these to say about the Nollywood actor.
The governor wrote, “I'm sad to hear of the demise of the
veteran Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke. She was a mother, a great daughter
of Enugu State and a talented actress who interpreted her roles with
outstanding dexterity”.
Continuing, the governor went further to say, “Her passing is
a huge loss to Enugu State, the movie industry, her family and friends, and I
pray for the peaceful repose of her soul. May the good Lord fill the void created
by her absence, and grant her family the strength and fortitude to bear this
irreplaceable loss. I urge them to find consolation in the fact that Okereke
led a good life. Her legacy in Nollywood will forever live on. May her soul
rest in peace”.
