SENATOR LALONG CHARGES NEW CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS BOSS ON ENHANCED SPIRITUAL EXERCISE.

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment Simon Bako Lalong, has charged the new Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) to work hard in ensuring that spiritual benefits are prioritised during pilgrimages.

Senator Lalong stated this when he paid a working visit to the newly appointed Executive Secretary Bishop Stephen Adegbite and Federal Commissioners of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission to felicitate with them and encourage them to deliver on the mandate of President Bola Tinubu.

Lalong urged them to see their appointments as a sacred call to duty which needs to be done with excellence, fear of God and honesty. 

While commending President President Ahmed Tunubu's choice of credible Christian leaders to head the Commission particularly the Choice of the Executive Secretary Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Lalong said Nigerians are looking forward to enahnced pilgrimage exercises that will deliver spiritual and physical benefits for the nation. 

The former Plateau State Governor promised his support to the new Executive Secretary and promised to stand with the Commission at all times just as he has done in the past. He said the Senate will do its best to ensure that the Commission is adequately funded to enable it carry out its functions effectively. 

Responding, the new Executive Secretary Bishop Stephen Adegbite said he was delighted to receive the Distinguished Senator Representing Plateau South who is the first top Government and political leader to have visited him on his first day in office. 

He thanked the Senator and Promised to work closely with him for the unity of the church and peace of the nation. 

He used the opportunity to commiserate with Senator Lalong over the recent attacks on the Plateau and assured him of his prayer for God to bring to and end the situation.
