Cross-dressing in Nigeria truly did not begin with the controversial recent queen of cross-dressing, Idris Okuneye, alias Bobrisky who popularized the game of cross dressing and gender manipulation.

In the South-Eastern part of Nigeria, precisely in the Ihitte-Oha area of Uratta in Owerri, Imo State, there was a man named Uzoma Odimara, a male cross-dresser who went around dressed in the traditional Igbo two wrapper and blouse, an exclusive reserve for Igbo married women.

Uzoma Odimara popularly known as Area Scatter, was a cross-dressing performer who gained popularity in the post-Nigerian Civil War era of the 1970s in Imo State, Eastern Nigeria and went about entertaining his audience even as he resigned from his job as a civil servant and took up entertaining as a full time job.

Uzoma in history, ranks as the first in this line of business before the likes of Bobrisky and James Brown came into the picture.

He is also known as AREA SCATTER then.
